Introduction to the Whitemouth River (5 hours)
The Whitemouth River is a great playground for paddlers of all skill levels, only one hour east of the city. However, without knowing the logistics of the run or the lines down the rapids, it can be an intimidating stretch of river for those who have never done it.
This 4 hour clinic is designed to safely introduce students to this beautiful section of river as well as introduce students to the excitement and fun that can be had cruising down Class II whitewater. Students will meet in the town of Elma at 5 pm, where we will set up a shuttle before getting on the water. They will spend the next few hours making their way down the river, stopping to scout rapids, learning the lines and running the rapids if they feel comfortable. After completing this afternoon river trip, students will be equipped to return to the river another day, with newfound confidence and knowledge to help them run the river safely.
This course will run with a maximum of 4 students and a minimum of 3.
