Introduction to Surfing at Sturgeon Falls (1 day)
Manitoba’s most famous paddling spot also happens to be a popular tourist attraction. If you’re tired of watching paddlers tear up the waves from shore, then it is time to get on the water!
This one-day course will teach you everything you need to know about Sturgeon Falls so that you can spend your summer riding the waves safely.
Students will meet in the Nutimik Parking lot at 9am. From there they will make their way out to the rapid.
Students will be introduced to the rapid and the names of the waves before making their way to an island – which will be home base for the rest of the day. Students will learn the tips and tricks needed to get out to the waves and the basics of surfing the waves! The day will wrap up with a paddle back to the parking lot and once there, we'll swap stories about the day while watching the sunset over beautiful Nutimik lake.
This day serves as a great introduction to this world-class playspot and introduces students to the lifestyle that goes along with this sport (i.e. hanging out with great people in beautiful places).
